Successful Partnership with Forth Ports

A year into our partnership with Forth Ports we've handled over 324 wind turbine components through our purpose built Grangemouth depot.

Forth Ports Successful Wind Turbine Partnership with CollettIn the Autumn of 2013, Forth Ports announced a partnership with Collett & Sons Ltd to oversee the shipping, project management and heavy transport of wind turbine components from our Grangemouth facility.

Comprising of 36 complete turbines in total, we have delivered components throughout Scotland, with the largest blade carried by our Team measuring a total of 57.20m in length.

Importing and delivering components for developments as far north as Clashindarroch demonstrates our skills and expert knowledge within the renewable energy industry.  The continued development of our Grangemouth facility and our working partnership with Forth Ports allows us to service the whole of Scotland

Our ability to provide specialist transportation solutions to the wind energy market and importing components for developments as far north as Clashindarroch, reflecting that with the development of this specialist base Collett and the Port of Grangemouth can service the whole of Scotland.

The Grangemouth depot now features a 110 Tonne gantry crane along with other specialist heavy duty handling equipment creating a central hub in Scotland for importing wind turbine components. This quayside depot is afforded the full use of port services within the Port of Grangemouth including discharging vessels, stevedoring, cranes, lifting, handling, storage, maintenance and transport of the turbines. Moving forward we are aiming to further develop aspects of their business in Scotland with a focus on marine services.
